Did you know soap has to go through a process known as "saponification"?
This is the chemical reaction that produces soap from animal or vegetable fats. Therefore, sodium hydroxide solutions (lye) are used in order to get soap!
It takes about 48 hours for the saponification process, and then the soap bars need to sit, or "cure" for about a month, for excess water to evaporate, producing a nice bar.
How soap is made....briefly....
Doap uses vegetable and animal fats, such as avocado, coconut, olive, castor, sunflower, lard, beef tallow, shea butter, and beeswax.
We also love to add flowers, scents, and natural tints from mica powder to add delicious elements to our soaps.
